🌏 About Borderless Japan
Turning social issues into business opportunities.
Founded in 2007, Borderless Japan runs 50+ social businesses in 14 countries, tackling issues like poverty, inequality, and climate change.
💡 Our approach
Instead of relying on donations, we create self-sustaining businesses that generate both revenue and social impact.
Example of our social business:
🇧🇩 Grameen Shakti (Bangladesh)
💢 Issue: Many rural families have no access to electricity and rely on kerosene or firewood, causing health problems and limiting study or work at night.
💡 Solution: Grameen Shakti installs solar-home systems in off-grid areas and trains local women as technicians to maintain them.
🍀 Impact: Families gain clean, affordable energy; people earn stable jobs; and the business sustains itself through user payments — proving that social good and profit can go hand in hand.
Now, we’re expanding globally — and looking for students who want to make business a force for good.
