Changing the Future of the Planet with "Urban Mining"
At Ousei Kankyoshoji Co., Ltd, we leverage our recycling raw material circulation technologies and smelting expertise to carry out environmentally conscious processing. By generating resources through these efforts, we aim to build a sustainable circular system, promoting the development and utilization of urban mines.
The concept of “urban mining” was proposed in 1988 by Professor Michio Nanjo and others at the Tohoku University Research Institute of Mineral Dressing and Smelting. It regards industrial products accumulated above ground as resources and names them “urban mines,” representing the idea of actively extracting valuable materials from them.

Rapidly Growing Business
With growing global awareness of environmental issues and the SDGs, the urban mining recycling market continues to expand worldwide.
In particular, precious metals and rare metals remain scarce and highly valuable resources in Japan, and other developed countries.
Amid this, our urban mining recycling business is experiencing increasing demand and high-growth.
In addition to expanding trade with the U.S. and Europe, we are also growing our transactions in the Middle East and actively pursuing M&A activities. We plan to further expand our business going forward.
This growth phase, with an eye toward going public, offers unique and valuable experiences that can only be gained now.
