Founded in 1946 (established in 1957), Kameda Seika is a major Japanese food company. With decades of trusted experience and a leading domestic market share, it is an innovative long-established company actively expanding into overseas markets. ■ Where can you work? Opportunities exist at the headquarters in Niigata, domestic offices across Japan, and overseas locations including the United States, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. Rice Cracker Business – Japan

KAMEDA SEIKA is Japan’s leading rice cracker company, holding a 30% share of the domestic market. We have maintained the top position in the rice cracker industry for over 40 years since 1975, proof of our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers, while ensuring food safety, reliability, and consistently delivering rice crackers that are both delicious and enjoyable.

Many people know our arare and osenbei rice crackers, especially our long-selling brands like KAMEDA Kaki-no-Tane and Happy Turn, which have become synonymous with KAMEDA SEIKA.

As a market leader, KAMEDA SEIKA is committed to staying ahead in an ever-changing environment. By innovating within our classic product lines and creating new "eating scenarios" with next-generation rice crackers, we aim to revitalize the rice cracker market and bring health, flavor, and fun to our customers.

Rice Cracker Business – International

Rice crackers represents Japan culture and have continued to be loved by many people. At KAMEDA SEIKA, we aim to bring this tradition to the world by expanding our rice cracker business globally. Our goal is to become a “Global Food Company” that delivers health and happiness to people everywhere through rice crackers.

In Asia, we strengthened our presence in the Chinese market by establishing Qingdao Kameda Foods Co., Ltd. as a production base in Qingdao, China in 2003. In 2020, we acquired Singha Kameda (Thailand) Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary, positioning it as a hub for cross-border trade and global rice cracker distribution. More recently, we have expanded into Vietnam, India, and Cambodia.

We are developing brands tailored to local markets and are working to increase cross-border trade.

Leveraging our international network, we will continue taking on the challenge of making KAMEDA SEIKA rice crackers available to customers around the world.

Food-related Business

In our medium-term business plan formulated in 2018, KAMEDA SEIKA declared that it would fully transition from a rice cracker business to a food business. Based on the technology and knowledge from decades-long rice research at KAMEDA SEIKA, we have developed several products other than rice crackers, such as the smooth and easy-to-swallow universal design food “Fukkura Okayu”. Furthermore, we have verified various functional effects of rice-derived “plant-based lactic acid bacteria K-1” and sake lees-derived “plant-based lactic acid bacteria K-2”, expanding the possibilities of our healthcare business.

Looking ahead to the future, we are developing these businesses to become KAMEDA SEIKA’s core business, we will strive for sustainable growth of the food business based on the concept of “Better For You”.
